What Remi is, and is not

Remi is an AI-powered life-coaching app: every evening you tell it about your day (live voice call, voice note or text) and it replies with a reflection, questions and one concrete suggestion. Remi is not a health service, a psychologist, a psychiatrist or therapy; it does not diagnose, treat or recommend medication. In an emergency call your country's emergency number; when the app detects signs of crisis it shows you helplines.

What we collect

Account: email, name, interface language, the language your coach speaks, country, time zone, evening/morning reminder hours, your coach's name/gender/style; when you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier that provider gives us.

Journal content: transcripts of what you tell the coach, the coach's replies, the day card (mood score, emotion tags, a good thing, tomorrow's intention, a short summary), memory items (people, goals, events, recurring themes, notes you mention), weekly/monthly reports and letters to your future self. Because this content can reveal information about your mental health it is treated as special-category personal data and is processed only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw by deleting your account.

Audio: live calls are not recorded; voice notes are transcribed and the audio file is not kept. Audio is streamed to the voice provider only during a live call.

Usage: screen view durations, session length and mode, app version, device type, event logs; subscription status and purchase events via the app stores (we never receive card details).

Safety flags: if signs of crisis are detected in what you say, only the date and level are recorded; the content is not written to that record.

Ad measurement: install source (campaign), platform-permitted advertising identifiers and a random device identifier.

How we protect it

Journal content, coach replies, memory, card texts, reports and letters are encrypted in the database with a per-user key (AES-256-GCM); keys are wrapped with a master key. A database backup alone cannot be read. Data is protected with TLS in transit. Transcripts are never written to server logs. API keys never reach the device.

You can lock the app with Face ID / fingerprint.

Why and on what basis

To provide coaching, memory and reports (performance of a contract, and explicit consent for special-category data); to improve the product and prevent abuse (legitimate interest); for ad measurement (your device permission / consent); to meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

AI providers: OpenAI (live voice calls, voice-note transcription, the coach's spoken replies) and Anthropic (analysis, memory, written replies, reports). They receive only the text and audio needed at that moment, never your account or email; the data is not used to train models and is not retained by the provider (zero-retention setting).

Subscriptions: Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat. Ad measurement: AppsFlyer, Meta, TikTok (install and purchase events, never journal content). Error tracking: Sentry (user id only). Hosting: Hetzner (Germany/Finland, EU) and Cloudflare.

We do not sell data and do not share it with anyone else unless required by law.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Deleting your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) permanently destroys your encryption key and content; purchase records needed for accounting are anonymized and kept for the legally required period. You can export your data as JSON from Settings → Export my data.

Your rights

You can access, correct (memory items are editable in the app), delete, export and object to the processing of your data (GDPR and Turkish KVKK). Use the in-app deletion or write to . EU residents may complain to their data protection authority.

Age

The app is not for people under 16; store age rating is 17+.

Changes

When this policy changes we notify you in the app and update the date above.
